Fundhive
Fundhive is a digital platform built to empower communities to save together and invest in real opportunities like land, housing, or business ventures. I designed the promotional website, user dashboard, and admin dashboard from scratch, ensuring a seamless and transparent experience for all types of users.
What is it
Fundhive enables groups of people, like colleagues in a corporate office, to create a shared fund. Each member contributes a fixed amount every month for a chosen period. Once the fund matures, the pooled savings are invested in assets such as property or business. Profits and ownership are then shared among all contributors.
How I think
From the beginning, I aimed to design Fundhive as more than just a financial tool. My goal was to create a platform that felt trustworthy, transparent, and community-driven. I focused on making sure users could easily track their savings, understand investments, and feel confident about their financial contributions.
What are the challenges
The main challenges were:
Designing two dashboards (user + admin) with different needs but consistent experience.
Making financial information simple and readable for non-technical users.
Building trust in digital savings, where people are cautious about money and transparency.
How I solve
I simplified complex data into clean visuals like charts and progress bars. For trust, I used clear messaging, transparent transaction history, and community-driven design elements. Each dashboard was tailored to its audience while maintaining a consistent design language.
The methods I followed
I followed the Double Diamond approach but described it in practical steps to keep things clear:
Research & Insights – I explored community finance models using AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini, combined with timeline analysis.
Wireframing – Sketched user flows and low-fidelity layouts for website and dashboards.
Design & Prototyping – Transformed wireframes into high-fidelity designs with a modern, minimal look.
Refinement – Iterated based on test feedback before moving forward.
Final Design
The final outcome included:
A promotional website that builds trust and attracts communities.
A user dashboard where contributors track savings, investments, and profits.
An admin dashboard for managing groups, funds, and approvals.
Usability Testing
I conducted quick usability checks to ensure a smooth flow.
Key takeaways from testing:
Clarity: Users wanted to see fund progress at a glance → added visual tracking.
Trust: Transparent transaction records built confidence.
Simplicity: Reduced unnecessary details, keeping focus on actions and results.
Conclusion
Fundhive taught me how to design for financial trust and simplicity. By handling everything from research to high-fidelity design alone, I sharpened my skills in end-to-end product design. The project reflects my ability to design platforms that connect communities and empower people to achieve financial goals together.
